Maternal Support and Child Care

Early Childhood Development (ECD) is key to a full and productive life, and fundamental to the progress of a nation.

When investments are made in mothers and young children, children’s risk of dying under the age of 5 is reduced, they stand a better chance of doing well at school and they are also more likely to break the intergenerational cycle of poverty (UNISEF 2020).

PDIA works in collaboration with mothers, equipping mothers with skills and knowledge for child care. PDIA establishes Communities of Mothers (CMs) giving mothers an opportunity to collectively share their challenges and find lasting solutions to their problems.

PDIA offers Start-up capital for mothers to engage joint income generating activities (IGAs) to effectively take care of themselves and their children.
